37.5ml the sentinel

12.5ml smokey / heated whiskey

25ml apricot jam syrup

1 dash of angostura bitters

Method

pour everything into a shaker. fill with ice and shake for 20 seconds, strain into a coupe. 

Apricot jam syrup: simmer apricot jam with a dash of water, stirring until smooth. you dont want the jam to dilute too much. garnish with basil leaf and orange zest.

variations: famous grouse and Bains whiskey are good plated whiskeys to use, you may need to adjust the amount of whiskey if the peat is very strong.
